 A complete history of New Mexico United by uniform number.

This website, in harmony with our companion, more long-form Substack, will be a complete numerical and chronological history of every player who has been named to the matchday-18 for a first team New Mexico United match.

The purpose of this site is to document all of the players who have suited up for United, a couple of which did so for only one game and their boots never touched grass (gotta love those emergency backup keepers). Stories like those (Danny Vitiello #21, for example) can still surprisingly disappear from the internet if we stop listening for them, and I wanted to make sure that didn't happen.

Oddly, all of this stuff is not already in one place. There is information everywhere (Wikipedia, ESPN, Transfermarkt, the official team site, etc.), but none if it seems complete or fully accurate. Hopefully, with your help, I'll get both of those right. 

Huge thanks to the inspiration for this project, Mets by the Numbers. It's, you guessed it, a numerical history of the Mets, and it's the first and best one to do it. Thanks, MBTN!

A bit of quick housekeeping...

Note #1: This website will cover first team New Mexico United players only, including those named to the squad for cup competitions (US Open Cup, Club World Cup,… a boy can dream). Players signed to the first team on Academy contracts like Josh Waggoner (#72) will be included.

Numbers worn in friendlies (preseason or international), Academy or U23 matches will not be included. Subject to change, but probably not. This means a player like Gabe Legendre who appeared in #22 in a friendly against Cardiff City FC would not make the cut. Sorry, Gabe!

Note #2: You don’t have to actually appear in a match to appear on this website or in the book (see The Book! page above for details on that). If a player is named to the 18-player match day squad for a first team New Mexico United match, but doesn't get subbed on, he’s in. That’s good news for you Mike Graczyk (#31) fans.
